Walking to Rivendell: End of Week 193

Slow week -- the holidays are upon us!

It's a nice coincidence that our average mileage is now fighting the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, and if silmaril hurries, she can make it there next week with Aragorn, just like in the books. It's only 20 miles or so... go silmaril go!

Our long walker this week, with over 15 miles, is koralleen. Congrats, nice to see you up here in these dizzying heights!

There's something wrong with the average, I think. Only lonebear has a mileage higher than our average, which seems screwy.

The way I figure the average is that I take all the miles anyone has ever walked, whether you dropped out or not, and divide them by the number of people currently in the group. Right now, the total mileage of people who've retired is 12,076, and the total mileage of those people still walking is 17,354 and change. I *could* just use the current mileage of people still walking and divide by the current number of walkers, but where's the fun in that? It's a much smaller number. I figure you can retire, but you still gotta let us use your miles!
